It is my opinion that neutrals are a very underrated, but necessary component of any wardrobe. While these colours look simple they are far from basic. The key is to wear them together and when done right it can create a chic minimalist look. The best way to do this is by blending them in with your other pieces to really make them pop. Think of neutrals like glue: they bring multiple components together. The pairings are endless and this is why closet seems to have more and more of these every season. If you need a little more convincing here are some more reasons below:

  1. You can wear them with everything!

Neutrals create the perfect backdrop if you want to showcase something fancy or fun, like an exquisite shoe.

2. Neutrals go beyond black and white.

A neutral color is a tone that blends together with another. (E.g Tans, soft grays and light or army green)  Your outfit will always look effortless. Bonus: Metallic's are also considered a neutral.

3. Neutrals are timeless.

This generally means you get a lot more use out of a structure piece like a trench, black pant or even a silver shoe. Timeless pieces only need to be replaced due to wear and tear -- NOT because they're obsolete. With fashion constantly changing using neutrals to anchor your closet is a very budget-friendly way to go about building your wardrobe.

Sometimes, being subtle can be the most stylish statement of all. Thanks for taking the time to read this week's post.
