With the temperatures beginning to 'fall', putting together an outfit that is fashionable yet functional can be a challenge. I find that the best way to handle this is to bundle up with light layers in the morning. These layers can easily be thrown into my purse if it warms up during the day and these pieces can be put back on as it cools down in the evening.
One of my favorite layering pieces right now is my over-sized plaid scarf. The scarf is cozy and it wraps up right under my chin which helps keep me warm and perhaps the best part of all - pieces like this are very budget friendly.
I went with the ankle boots here because they are the perfect transition piece to wear in the Fall and early Winter. The boots are comfortable, warm, and they are available at every price point. As a short girl I prefer neutral colored boots because they help elongate my legs and I like to pair them with black leggings.
For the finishing touch I used a colored bag. I love the color red, especially during the colder months. Red is a great color to invest in because of its versatility with other colors and patterns. Red can elevate any casual look and it can also be a statement piece that pops out when wearing monochromatic outfits.. This cross body bag from Pinkstix is great because it keeps me hands free while I am running errands.
Thanks for taking the time to read this week's post. Good luck shopping!
